Terms of Service

Welcome to Spire. These terms apply when you use the Spire app and our services. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

Who can use Spire

You must be at least 13 years old to use Spire. If you are below the age of majority, a parent or guardian should approve your use. You are responsible for your account and for keeping your login secure.

What Spire is

Spire helps you identify and care for plants, learn, and share or swap plants with people nearby. The AI gardener Gro gives you personalized advice. We may change, improve, or discontinue parts of the service over time.

Subscription and payments

Spire can be used for free with the community features (Neighborhood, profile, and messages) and manual care of your own garden. The smart features, such as the AI gardener Gro, camera plant identification, automatic tasks, diagnosis, garden design, and the learning journey, require Spire Premium.

Spire Premium is offered as a monthly or yearly subscription and starts with a 7-day free trial. When the trial ends, the subscription automatically converts to paid unless you cancel before it expires. The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.

Purchases and payments are handled by the App Store (Apple) or Google Playand charged to your account there. You can view and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple or Google account settings. Any refunds follow Apple’s and Google’s policies. The price is shown in the app before you buy, in your local currency.

Acceptable use and user content

Spire has features where you can share content with others, including listings, events, messages, and your profile. We have a zero-tolerance policy for objectionable, illegal, or harmful content and for abusive behavior toward other users. You agree not to post or send content that is:

• illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, or discriminatory,
• abusive, defamatory, or an invasion of others’ privacy,
• pornographic or otherwise clearly inappropriate,
• spam, fraudulent, or misleading,
• infringing on others’ rights, including copyright and trademarks.

You can report content or users that break these rules directly in the app, and you can block other users. We review reports and remove content or suspend accounts that violate these terms, normally within 24 hours. We may remove content and terminate accounts that abuse the service, without prior notice.

Your content

You own the content you create. To operate the service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content within the app (for example, showing a listing to nearby neighbors). You are responsible for the content you share.

About the AI gardener Gro

Gro provides general gardening advice based on artificial intelligence and can be wrong. Its advice is not a substitute for professional, medical, or safety guidance. Always double-check important decisions yourself, and be especially careful with questions about whether plants are toxic to children or pets. When in doubt, or if someone has ingested something, contact a vet, doctor, or poison control.

Third-party services

Spire uses third-party services for sign-in, AI, storage, and notifications. See our Privacy Policy for details on how data is processed.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time in the app, under Settings → Delete account. We may suspend your account if you violate these terms.

Disclaimer and liability

Spire is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim liability for indirect losses or damages arising from use of the service. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Norwegian law. Disputes will be resolved amicably where possible, and otherwise before the Norwegian courts.

Changes

We may update these terms. For significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email. The date at the top shows when they were last changed.
